I'll just say a big "ACK" at version 8...horribly buggy; I will probably never buy from Pinnacle again. I got a Mac instead :)

I've been using Pinnacle for some years now. Kaido is right that early version 8.0 (ie earlier patches) were very buggy. It wasn't particularly usable. I loved 9 and 10 is looking very good so far (I just got it and haven't really used it much yet.) I also own mydvd, video studio, and nero ultra. I still prefer the Pinnacle stuff. I've got the outpost Sony Vegas+DVD on order so I'll have an opinion on that one before too long.

So 1 1/2 years ago I wouldn't have recommended it. If you can get it at a good price it's a pretty good piece of software these days.

I use Pinnacle too, but if I could find something that renders edited video FAST and as good as Pinnacle, I would do it in a heartbeat. It seems to render my videos at twice the time the video is for (ie, a 1hr vid takes 2hrs to render, and I have a A64 3000+ with 1gb ram and 160gb hd).
