Probably most people who wanted this jumped on earlier CompUSA/Best Buy deal. But for those who didn't, Circuit City is selling it for $70 - $50 MIR starting 8/25. Rebate is supposedly offered by Pinnacle, not Circuit City.

Studio 7 is being replaced by Studio 8, so there might be better deals available soon. Still, $20 for Firewire card and software is not bad.

Works for me :)

Now I can go back to BB and get another 19.00 back.
I purchased a mini dv and studio dv over a week ago. At that time it was 129.00 for studio dv with a 30.00 mail in rebate. A few days later they had it for 129.00 with 40.00 instant rebate and 50.00 mail in rebate, so i went in got 40 bucks back and a new receipt that was valid for the 50.00 mail in, Now as soon as this ad comes out i can go collect a few more dollars I guess ??

Got one. But the board only has 1394 port. How it can connect to VHS VCR?

Thanks.

xpeng, there are two versions of this package: (1) Analog and (2) DV -- Digital Video. The software is the same in both packages, but the analog version has a PCI card with S-video, composite video, and audio connectors. The DV version has a PCI firewire card.

Someone in the CompUSA thread said the drivers for analog card were not compatible with Video For Windows (VFW) -- i.e. non-Pinnacle apps could not capture from the analog card. Of course, the firewire card does not have this problem.

Picked up the last one at the Pasadena, CA store. Don't bother trying there (even though website states available).

There is a number under the UPC code, I think it's the model #, showing "210100122". But the rebate requires model # 210100110. On my receipt and rebate form show ...110. How about yours?
Mine has a plastic box instead of paper box showing on their website. Is this the correct item?

No. Not unless you find something like a firewire deck to pass it through.
