Pinnacle Studio AV version 7 : Comments please?

I used to have a Matrox G-400tv for YEARS, and I rarely used it to capture video, so I decided to finally upgrade my aging video card to a Geforce2 Ti500 Golden Sample. I figured if I needed to capture some video I would use the VIVO features of the Geforce card. Well the Geforce card is GREAT in games, but totally sucks and is very moody when it comes to capturing video.

Well, now I need to capture some video for a side project I am working on, the final product will be a bunch of compressed 320 x 240 movie clips (1-2 minutes each) that will be included on a interactive CD-ROM I a creating in Macromedia Director.

Does anyone have experience or comments on the Pinnacle Studio AV version 7? It's only $130US at CompUSA and it comes with "TitleDeko" a very cool title effects program, I won't be using the other software...I like Premiere instead.

Also, I should mention that other than producing SMALL video clips, I may occasionally create something that gets outputed back to the VCR for television viewing, like a small presentation or something...what I am getting at is that I don't think I need a $400+ video capture card for this stuff.

Thanks!

Mitch
