Ripped from FW. I've used the previous version to backup DVDs and it worked well, but somewhat slower than DVDShrink. For .01 and free shipping, I ordered a copy. The rebate form is only good for 2/24-2/25.

"Make copies of your DVDs and CDs faster and easier than ever. Featuring a friendly interface and revolutionary duplication technology, Pinnacle Instant Copy 8.0 burns bit-for-bit CD and DVD copies at unbeatable speeds! It's the smart way to make true 1: 1 copies of DVD movies, transfer DVD content to Video CDs, and backup any CD media, including data, music, and video discs"

Nice deal, anyone have anything good to say about IC8? Still using version 7 here, dvd2one, haven't tried shrink yet.

I've tried 8... amazingly the quality is even better than 7!
Personally, I use DVDSHRINK for movies where I just need to rip extras and audio tracks etc.
I use IC8 on anything that needs to be re-encodec. I guess the one problem I have is that it still undershoots the size which it should make the movie .... IE using 90% compression rather than ending up with a target size of 4.3GB, you end up with like 3.9GB ... well, that extra 400MB could have let me go to say 95% compression, so thats frustrating

Still a great app though. Quality is much better than DVDSHRINK

This program is by far the best program for copying DVD's. Out of the box it is very good. If you do some tweaking with the hidden settings editor it becomes incredible. The big tweak is by default, IC8 does fast analysis and then sets the max dvd size to around 3.7 gigs. If you turn the analysis all the way up, it gets the the size dead on, which means you can set the max dvd size to the actuial max dvd size, and get that much better quality.

Also, the program has nice features like pdi->iso conversion and batch support. Funny thing is, I bought IC8 a while back, and I cracked my CD a couple days ago. They wanted $15 to replace it. Good timing :D

How much longer does it take to do a backup with the analysis cranked up?

IC8 is an excellent program but its user interface is not the best. In that way IC7 was the best with the simplest but very customizable options. Of course the extra option of endoing for higher quality rules.

i was reading a lot of reviews about this program however i was disappointed that this program will not copy copyrighted DVD's. Because of this, i stayed away from this program...i mean what is the use of a DVD copying program if it doesn't copy 90% of the DVD's out there?

Can't you just rip it with dvd decrypter first?

The answer is sorta related. Analysis cranked up takes ~3 hours per dvd. You do NOT want your dvd drive spinning for 3 hours, hense DVD decryptor is a good idea in any case.

I'm used to doing copying manually so 3 hours to me is nothing compared to 15-20 hours in CCE (although CCE looks MUCH MUCH better, I can post clips to compare), but I realize that isn't the norm. The batch feature in IC8 Hidden Settings Editor helps here though in that you can just create a queue and it's done when you come back from work/school.

Can you show me a clip with a comparison. I wanted to use CCE, with Sonic Scenarist, but Scenarist always crashed my computer. Pissed me off.
