Singers aren't necessarily writers. Good chance she didn't write those lyrics.

And when did anyone give a crap what pop singers sang about?

It's unfortunate that Pink wasn't on the plane with Aaliyah. That could of been two problems solved.

A perfect mod quote would be "how about three"...unfortunately I don't think they nor I would wish death on anyone.

WAHHHHHH!! I'm not getting any and music like this isn't helping! I want some, boohooo! All women are mean and hate me.

That's all I read.

Get your eyes checked. My girlfriend of the last 2.5 years also isn't understanding where you drew this conclusion.

It also cracks me up how people are saying "she's her own person" and she's "Janis-esque." How the hell is she Janis-esque? And she' not her own person, she's the same marketing-driven pop singer as all the rest of them.
ummm.... i didn't say "she's her own person". i did say she reminded me of Joplin, and i explained why. if you can't hear it that's your problem.

Apparently it was necessary for him to bring his "girlfriend of 2.5 years" into this, it's apparent 'they' are both biased.

Missundaztood was largely written by Pink, since then she has been a writer for most of her songs. She doesn't want to be a cookie-cutter popstar where you just stand look the part and sing.

Say what you want about her, I think she'd be fun for a good romp in the sack. She is that naughty girl that you wouldn't take home to mom, but you'd sure take her home for the weekend. I guess I'm more into that personality.

aaliyah was gorgeous and with an gift for singing. what have you contributed to the world besides this troll post?

KISS had a better idea:

Love 'em, leave 'em
Love 'em, leave 'em
Lovem, leavem, yaaaaaa!

Perhaps ^^^ is the inspiration for this song by Pink. Dunno, just sayin.

You fail. Lyrics in songs are not, most of the time, the actual attitudes/views of the performer. They are entertainers, often taking on Characters just like an Actor would in a movie.

Uh, did you read what was I quoting? I brought up the girlfriend in order to point out how funny it is that someone assumed I didn't like a particular pop singer because I was sexually frustrated.

And I have to disagree with your second paragraph. She "doesn't want to be a cookie-cutter pop star where you just have to look the part"? According to some of her lyrics, maybe. Unfortunately, she contradicts herself by sexing it up in nearly everything she does. Someone posted a few Maxim-magazine-style shots of her in this thread already. Damn, even the album you cite (Missundazstood) has a cover with her in a tight, white midriff shirt. Face it-she's the same as every other cookie cutter pop singer, just claiming she isn't. The lyrics to her latest song, the one I started the thread about, as well as numerous others exemplify this sufficiently. Want more proof? Check out the amazon.com page for, again, that same album you cited. Notice something under "Customers who bought this item also bought:"? Besides other Pink albums, the only artists who appear on the list are Christina Aguilera, Avril Lavigne, Gwen Stefani and Kelly Clarkson. 😛
