Pink Floyd Fans-

Did PF EVER perform anything from Animals live? More importantly, if so, are there any video files!!!?!

I know Roger Waters played at least 1 track from Animals on his "In the Flesh" tour about 6 years ago.
But then again he isn't all of Pink Floyd.

Edit: it was "Pigs on the Wing" (Part 1) and there is a DVD of the tour available.

Apparently, before the animals album, Dogs and Sheep were performed live as "You Gotta Be Crazy" and "Raving and Drooling".

I'd love this too if it exists, haven't been able to find much and that's my fav album by them.

Hmmm, I've recently(last 2 days) learned that you have excellent taste in music...

Good, good...

edit: BTW why the hell did your thread from last night get locked? I have seen much more meaningless crap stay open until it died naturally.

All I've got is a bootleg of The Wall from NY in 81 (I think) titled "Behind the Wall." Got it before the official release of The Wall live, which was from a different performance.

Ok, so none of you are true floyd fans if you do not know the answer to this question. Of course they did. In 1977, PF performed Animals in its entirety during their North American tour. I must say it was a great show indeed. I attended the concert at Jeppesen Stadium in Houston, TX. In addition to playing all of Animals, they followed that with the entire Wish You Were Here, and encored with Money and Us and Them. This concert was the first of four times I've seen PF perform live.

well considering that this concert was 6 years before i was BORN.....

So then, I doubt there is any video footage available.

LOL, it is hard to be a PF fan when you are not even a glint in your fathers eye yet. I was born in '82 myself, I suppose if I was a true Floyd fan I would have at least known about the concert. I guess I don't really care much how big of a fan I am, I just enjoy their music for what it is. If it's any consolation, I think that 99.3% of stuff played on popular radio today is crap.

Saw that very show in Cleveland stadium, and didn't care for it. Sound stunk! All the huge balloon animals in the world just don't make up for poor sound...

Sorry about the bad sound experience. The show in Houston was great. Flawlessly performed.

Further, my note about 'true fans would know the answer' was purely anedotal. Any fan of PF is alright in my book. I just think it's great that even after 30+ years, PF fans have emerged from two generations. It's just a shame that the younger crowd will never be able to witness first hand a PF concert. As for video footage from the Animals era, I do not know. A decent video of a PF concert is Pulse. Available on VHS. PF has never officially released this concert on DVD, but I have heard of some bootlegs of the Pulse oncert. I might add that I also saw this concert at Earl's Court, London in Oct 94. However, after the concert in London last July for Live 8, we might just see a reunion and a world tour. We can only hope!

The live videos that I have been able to obtain are: Live @Pompeii (dvd), Pulse, Live8, tidbits from the making of DSotM

Did they play poorly or did the sound/mixing system just suck badly?

I saw this show at Soldier Field in Chicago. I recall it was a great show, but it was sooo long ago.
