Okay here is my problem any help would be nice.

I cant seem to to get my network working. I running winXP, and when i go to View Workgroup Computers it sees my desktop computer, yet when i click on the icon i get a prompt that says "\\XXXXX is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found."

Also i notice that i can ping from my laptop to my desktop, but not from the desktop to the laptop. I am using a linksys hub/router and the internet connections for both computers are working properly.

Please help if you have any ideas.

So you're saying that both computers can see the Internet and can browse the web, but the desktop cannot ping the laptop?

It sounds like there is a firewall on the laptop. If that's the case, try disabling it entirely, then pinging the laptop.
