ping and connection issue

I use cox cable so it should be very fast. Usually my ping in halo is 34. In other games I dont know what it is but it was generally perfectly smooth. now it fluctuates between 64-100 and in all games it's jerky. How can I fix this?

There could be a few reasons for this. Cable internet works like this: huge bandwidth for a neighborhood, the more users on...the less speed and higher latency you get. It COULD also be an issue w/ you own equipment. So the first thing to do is power down you PC, unplug the modem and router and let them sit for a minute or so. Plug the modem in first and wait for it to establish a connection, then plug the router it. Boot your PC and see if it changes. If this doesn't fix it...then it's probably an issue inside their network. Unfortuntately cable companies do not give a sh!t about your ping unless it's excessive (200+) and is causing problems. They do not care if you're gaming. You will generally see a decrease in performance between the hours of 3pm and 11pm.
