Pimples and Swimming? Any co-relation?

Just thought of this for some reason.
Do you think there is a co-realtion between swimming and pimples.
Since supposedly the reason for pimples is oily/dirty skin and pool water has a lot of chlorine, i would assume it sort of cleans up your skin and it might prevent pimples or something.

Hey john, nice name. :) I voted for option 3. I actually don't have pimples now, but I used to, and I didn't swim.

It seems like a lot of people on my school swim team have pimples, I always wondered if there was a relationship.

I've never really been a big swimmer and have never really had acne either... just a few pimples for a few months when I was a teenager.

<------ Was lucky!

exactly...so those that swim alot and have oily skin are a bad combo. your body will automatically produce more oil if your skin is dry. You need some oil, just not alot.

Scary thing about my friends on swim team was that those who had dark hair after ended up with light brown "highlights" from the cholorine level in our pool. No wonder I never swam in it.

THat's pretty common... it's not dangerous or anything unless you drink it.

Common yes but when I smell the cholorine as I walked by the building I still wasn't going to swim in it. I'd rather hop in the Santa Monica Bay.

I dunno man, santa monica water is pretty freaking dirty, do they still pump sewage out there? :Q I mean, atleast chlorine is supposed to disinfect stuff.

I don't think they've pumped sewage out there in years. That's what Hyperion is for.

it could be that the chlorine irritates your skin and is causing them...
