PIII overclocking Question

Much more likely with the 700e IMHO it's the king of P3 overclockers these days.
Lots of them go 133, and some go higher. I have one that does 933 at default voltage, and 1002 mhz at 1.9V (133x7=933mhz and 143x7=1001mhz)
My other cpu would go 133x7 at 1.95V but I have it on a BH6 board now running 124x7=868mhz
Be sure to let us know what you get and how it goes, BTW if you want a guaranteed overclockable P3 look up Compuwiz1 - he is a good trader on the AnandTech FS forums. I don't know what (if anything) he has now, but he has a great rep.

Overclocking is an art, and there are no guarantees. For example, some CPUs may overclock greatly (700Mhz Pentium III at 143FSB), but unfortunately, there are many others that do not perform as well with respect to overclocking. Anyway, you probably have a higher chance of hitting 133Mhz FSB on a 700Mhz Pentium III than on a 750Mhz Pentium III. Good luck!
Instig8r, right on - only guarantee you got if you buy a 700e from a retailer is that it will run stable at 700mhz.
Compuwiz1 guarantees chips to be overclockable if he sells them to you, so other than that kind of deal you are rolling the dice.
Some scoff at the idea of getting a pretested cpu, "where's the adventure in that?" they say.
So if you are looking for adventure, get a chip from a retailer (look for a retailer that does not sell pre-tested chips or buy yourself a retail boxed chip.
If you are looking for a guaranteed overclockable chip, then contact a reputable seller who pretests them and provides a guarantee to what speed you will be able to hit.
