Perry Texan,
The reason I asked about Mc Glen is:
PIII 700 FC-PGA Retail: 242.95
pointclick 10%: (24.29)
S&H: 4.95
total 223.61

Difference is $7.77 more from mc glen IF within the next 15 days Onvia participates in pointclick again. If they don't the onvia purchase is $239.82.

I guess what I was looking for was for some input from anyone who has dealt with mc glen seeing how their price is definite (although I didn't call to confirm stock) and Onvia's 215.84 is very uncertain.

I have bought from Onvia in the past and has always been a good deal. I wish I had made the purchase last week and avoided the decision of paying more, or just wait and see if something else comes up in the next few weeks :)

My experience so far with Onvia and p!!! 700's, I live in Detroit:

Ordered 6-2-00, shipped from Jacksonville FL warehouse: sspec SL3T3 which is cA2 stepping unfortunately. :( I can get 826 max from it with a Golden Orb cooler. I am flEbaying it this weekend, unless I find someone interested.

Ordered 7-1-00, shipped from Addison IL warehouse: ENROUTE to my front door, and hopefully a cB0 stepping. ;) Should be here tomorrow, according to UPS tracking.

I will post with my new processor results when it arrives, the drama builds...

Hi, Open me, Open me, it's saying...;) Took a gamble to get the cBO.. Haven't opened the box yet... I e-mailed onvia bout returns a little bit ago... The slotket is behind a couple of days anyway...and a pep66 from a different vendor ...

I did get the 25 bucks off, and free shipping! :)

How high has anyone got these SL3T3's anyhow? TIA

i ordered 2 of them BOTH are cb0 :). I think the PA location has a lot of them seems like everyone's shipment from there is cb0. If someone wants and they order it to come to my house so it will be from teh PA dist, i can send it to them. But its still a gamble to get cb0.

Well,

I let you guys know if the PA warehouse is still shipping the cb0 stepping. I ordered yesterday and it's coming to NJ today.

Too bad I couldn't get the pointclick though.

Now to upgrade my TNT2 vid card. Any ideas anyone?

Just got 2 of these from the IL warehouse and I'm proud to say they are definetly cb0 stepping. Came in 3 days (Im in minneapolis) and I used $25/off coupons, using 2 seperate orders. I even used the $25 off amex code even though I used a mastercard and it worked beautifully.

I also e-mailed p@intclick.com and told them when I ordered my stuff from onvia, onvia was listed on pointclick. they said it was possible and they would honor my 10% reimbursment. Onvia is back on the p@intclick reimbursment request, so if you ordered before july submit your reimbursment.

I just got mine from one of the CA warehouses, email me if you want to know which, I forgot offhand which of the 3? it was. IT is indeed CBO and I have it running at 700 right now at home in an Abit Slotket 3 card on an Abit Bx6Rev2 board. I am not expecting to get 933 because I expect my SCSI devices to have trouble with the FSB. But thaqt does not mean I will not be trying this weekend to eek out 933 with this bad boy.

PS, I now have a Celeron 300 with 3 peltiers and copper cold plate available if anyone is interested. It runs fine at 500 if your PCI components do not freak out. I did have PCI/maybe SCSI card/maybe motherboard conflicts I ran it flawlessly at 450 (default voltage) for the time I had it. It would run at 67F degrees compared to my system's temp of 97F

good luck with your own chips in this gamble

wolfreaper, the BX^ have a 1/4 PCI divider right? Then 133FSB would not change your PCI speed

Not all BX have the 1/4 PCI divider the first BX boards like ABIT BX6 do not. Fairly recent boards do.
