Can anybody tell me if I can run PC133 ram on this processor. I know that the FSB on this cpu is 100, but if I put in PC133, will it run at 133? Any advice, as always, is appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Depends on your motherboard. Whether it supports asynchronous FSB, memory operation.

But i think the i815 chipset does support that. Go to your bios and check. Better still, dig up your motherboard manual and check.

Come to think of it, if your MB can be clocked to 133Mhz for the FSB, why not go ahead with it? You'll get something like 214.5Mhz more out of your processor.

I tried o/c with my i815 mobo but had no success. I'm getting a Gigabyte V6x-4x, which I hope will bring some success. Anybody have any experience with that board?

I had this Gigabyte few months ago, it's good mobo, but with all limited option for overclocking I don't recommend this, the fastest VIA base mobo right now is Abit VH6, but don't ever buy the slot 1 version, is so slow, Gigabyte a lot better for slot 1.
