I think it may be the hard drives. I have 4 in an Antech P-160 case stack one on top of another. Could that cause the noise (thinking they are so close toghether and aplifiy the sound?). Tried everything and I'm pretty sure that it's th hard drives. Anyone else have the same problems/know what to do?

P.S., the P-160 is a POS

Well, simple thing to try is to unhook power from the hard drives and run the machine, and listen to it.

I think usually a really high pitched noise is from some coil... usually in PSU or on motherboard. Sometimes it's the combination because I've had a motherboard/PSU combo that made the high pitched noise when used together, but not when used apart.

Correct me if I am wrong....but most of the time harddrives make clicking noises.....

Well, older 7200RPM HDDs that didn't have fluid bearings (and some first gen fluid bearings) had a high pitch whine from the motor. Maybe prochobo has a HDD in there over 3 years old? Like I said, unhook all power from all hard drives and turn on the machine, and listen to it.

i am guessing it's a fan the hd should make short clicking noises under hd activity. I know now because my fan is quieter than my hd lol and it's a seagate.

my older JB drives make an incredible whine

the video card fan in my computer seems to make a horrendous whine. luckily att can control the fan. sometimes something else seems to make a whine and i haven't been able to isolate it. might be motherboard coils.
