Looks like the rumors are wrong. Brosnan will still be Bond :D

Cheers,

Brosnan won't be replaced.

London- Pierce Brosnan can breathe easy, now that he won't have to give up his James Bond gadgets anytime soon.

Eon Productions, which makes the 007 films, denies that it is looking to replace Brosnan, 48, in the role of the suave spy.

Producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli "confirm Pierce Brosnan will play James Bond in the forthcoming production and for the foreseeable future."

It said the two "are concerned at the repeated rumors in worldwide publications and on numerous websites, that they are in the process of looking for a new actor to play the character of James Bond."

A report said Scottish Actor Gerard Butler has been promised the role after Brosnan.

Poor George Lazenby misses out again. Ah, well, George is probably stirred, but not shaken. ;)

I heard the rumor that Brosnan wanted out of the Bond role, not that the studio was having him replaced. Although both would lead to a new bond... but Connery was the best. :p

Rupert Evert?

No offense to the guy.. but everytime I see him I make a mental association to the gay character he played in "My Best Friend's Wedding". I don't think I could ever watch him as Bond.

Roger Ebert says Mel Gibson should play bond.....would seem odd to see him as bond.

BTW: the last couple of Bond movies haven't been the best. The one with Denise Richards was the weakest.

For some reason I could see that Hugh Jackman guy from swordfish playing bond..except for his accent.

Once they ran out of original Ian Fleming story material, things started to decline, in my opinion.

My choice for the next James Bond: Grace Jones (hey, at least it wouldn't be stereotypical casting!) Grace kicked major butt in "A View to a Kill". The only problem I see is that she doesn't have a British accent, but that didn't stop Kevin Costner from playing Robin Hood.

My favorite (and probably most people's favorite) will always be Connery. I just loved the simplicity of the stunts and action back then, compared to the glitzness afforded by today's special effects (not that I mind today's effects, quite the contrary.) And I do like Brosnan as the latest Bond. I think he's a natural. I remember watching Remington Steele as a little kid with my parents and always telling them that he looked like James Bond. I guess it was because he always wore a tux on that show even when he was kicking butt.

LOL ......... Bond Men ;) Can you imagine the open intro with the silhouettes of nude men floating around

I always thought that with Bond sleeping around with so many women there would be a love child or two floating around. Maybe have his son/daughter take over for the old man ;)

I think hes better than that Timothy Daulton guy.

I also think Chevy Chase should be the next Bond, so why listen to me.

I wish they would remake On Her Majesty's Secret Service. It was one of my favorite Bond novels.

I can't believe so many people like Brosnan as Bond. To me, he is FAR too feminine. I never liked him as Remington Steele for the same reason, but with Bond, it ruins the role.

Also, Connery and Roger Moore both had a kind of confidence and arrogance that no Bond has had since. With Brosnan, it's more snobbery than arrogance (I don't know how to explain the difference - maybe it's back to the masculine/feminine distinction).

I can't see how Mel Gibson could possibly be James Bond. I do love to watch Gibson, but that would be a STRETCH.

George Clooney could pull it off.
