He made a movie in our little Nova Scotia , Canada town a few years ago. Everybody who met him was impressed.

why are they using n64 controllers? i thought wii u had some kind of special controller with a screen?

They only allow 1 touchscreen controller per Wii U console (unless its changed in the last year). Additional players would need to use traditional Wii controllers or the USB ports (I think there is now a USB to legacy controller port box)

Too bad they didn't use some modern gaming rigs and play Golden Eye: Source on a LAN with some audience members.

but I still have memories of that game as a kid.

.....

I was probably the best Goldeneye player on earth when I was a kid. That game is the reason why I got addicted to making other nerds rage.

"Play back the video." Abe. LOL!

I don't even know who the second President is. LOL But I can tell you how to make an airport for FS2004 or fly in the game.

Oh. You mean the Conan vid. I haven't finished watching the Fallon one yet...

The original Goldeneye 007 is only on N64. Licensing issues prevented a proper remake.

That one from last gen Wii/PS3/Xbox is a completely different game with some similar maps and scenarios. Think Call of Duty: "Go here, then here, now shoot this guy, go here..." The original game allowed you to play your own way (slow/stealthy, or run-and-gun).

It really was Call of Duty with a James Bond skin. Same engine. Same devs. Same publisher.

That was a GameCube-style controller. Not N64.

The Wii U doesn't have GameCube controller ports, but they're releasing an adapter to use GC controllers because so many Smash Bros. players love it. Also, they might re-release GC controllers with a USB connector.

Pffft.

Nobody could beat me at Goldeneye.

I remember playing the hell out of the multiplayer, and the inevitable arguments about someone using Oddjob because he was so short. I loved Oddjob. 😀

Yeah, well I meet the guy to be the first player in the world according to a gaming mag that got the cheat invincibility. Now I was pretty damn good. I was a spawn shooter since when you play the game for hours every day you know where they will spawn, but this guy was Delta Force, on your ass good. I only managed to kill him a few times. You have to have instinctive fire in that game. If your trying to aim then you will lose.

My fav character was the Janus Marine with an MP5. Double DD44 Dostovei's were good to have too.

You want a challenge in Perfect Dark.? Have nothing but the DY357 Magnum's in the game. This gun is slow to shoot, has six rounds and is slow to load.

You both cray cray. I used to play 3 v 1 and wipe the floor with everyone. I probably still have the maps memorized somewhere in my head as to where body armor and the other goodies are. Proximity mines were always my favorite.

Fairly sure I still have a N64 somewhere in a box in the attic/garage. BOTH OF YOU TO SOUTH FLORIDA NOW!

That was probably more satisfying for me than Jimmy LOL I was the best player in my town. I had never played a FPS on a console before, it had always been m/kb and the default control sucked. Quickly discovered 1.2 Solitaire was the best configuration because you could strafe with the yellow cursor buttons so it ended up feeling like a dual stick configuration that we use with dual stick controllers to this day. I was unstoppable, none of my friends stood a chance. They hated 1v1 with me but they'd still play 4-way. The map that Jimmy and Pierce were playing, I recall the little hidden room behind the ventilation tiles where you could both see and shoot out but nobody could see into it....fun times.

My friends and I spent hours playing proximity mines, easily more than all the other modes combined. Re-spawning was a bitch. Spawn + movement = insta death

Duke Nuke'em multiplayer had a similar problem. If you could get those trip mines to intersect in just the right way, you were trapped 😀
