Go back to how they were chosen in the original Bonds. The original Bond girl's were usually new actresses whose first big movie was Bond. Sometimes they went on to more, others didn't. I'd rather see a no name person play a Bond girl than have another famous person do it.

The next bond girl should not under any circumstances be a pop idol. If there's one thing Austin Powers 3 should have taught us it's that brainless pop starts do not belong in heavy speaking roles.

I did find it a little weird that they cancelled his contract. I more expected him to back out because of the injuries he's suffered during shooting.

God, say it's not so!!! Nooo....Bond has already gone downhill from the days of Connery and Moore. We don't need anymore "hot at the moment" personalities like Halley Berry (don't feel like looking up her name to see if that is the right spelling) or Spears playing Bond girls. I am wondering if the Bond franchise has run its course with lack of originality and freshness

the news story this thread is linked too didn't say he would be the next bond, just that MGM refuted the rumour that he wouldn't be. It is still possible he won't be.

As far as Pierce Brosnan, he's also going to be in Thomas Crown Affair II.
