That's right. You can get those claw covers, but it's probably much faster to just trim those suckers every few weeks, rather than trying to glue a tiny cover over each tiny claw every few weeks.
Cats don't like holding still very long, and trimming is going to be much faster. I considered those claw covers until I foresaw the challenges that lay ahead in applying them.
A good climbing/scratching post is a must. (Pick out a nice one that matches with your decor.) Cats
love to climb. It's great fun
and exercise for kitties. They'll still be able to run up their tree (post) with trimmed claws, but they won't be able to do any damage with those sharp tips.
BTW, you generally only need to trim the front claws. The back claws are not very sharp because they're only used for traction, not hunting and defense.
