Had another competition this weekend. Life is good. I'm on some medication which makes me overly sensitive to the sun and like a dumbass forgot to sunscreen up so I'm burned to beat hell.
But you know what they say. A bad day at the range is better then a good day in the office.

Now for the interesting part. We had 2 newcomers. They were Russian (And spoke Russian *very* fluently). Ivan and Andre. Andre was one damn stocky guy. He was packin a Smith & Wesson 500 Magnum. That thing was a damned hand cannon. I ran a few rounds through it and holy hell. Its doesnt have alot of recoil, but it has a very sharp recoil. In Andre's hands it looks like a normal pistol, in mine I look like dirty harry with a hand howitzer.

Its not really a pistol cause its a bit too big for that, but its not a rifle cause its too short and cant have a stock.

I dunno what it is, but holy christ its fun to shoot.

Its hard to describe. Its got a helluva recoil, but its not alot of recoil. Its somewhat like a .45, except just alot more painful and sharp.

We're eventually going to transition to more events to reflect a more varied shooting environment. 3 gun, IPSA based stuff, maybe have some training classes.
We have something in the works to bring out an NRA instructor and offer Instructor training.

Hence the "Defensive".

Of course, until I read the thread. haha. You should go to sixflags and do those "guess my age" things, and get a stuffed animal.

Anyways, ya, I'm not too much into guns, but, that gun looks pretty cool.

Is .45 the largest calibre for a pistol?

Once I watched an episode of Myth Busters, when they were testing what happened when you fired a range of different rifles into a swimming pool, to see how far the bullet would travel, yardy yardy yar. Anyway at the end they tested one of those BIG fvck off sniper rifles that are armour piercing, and have that big tank barrel style muzzle on the end. And when they fired it I was like, ohh my F?ing god, that is the sweetest thing I have ever seen !!!!! The bullets were like the size of my arm ?well a little bit of exaggeration there? :shocked:

Funny you mention that.

The Russian did. Kinda scared the range officer, he wasnt expecting it.
I thought it was funny as hell.

The 500 holds 5 rounds in the cylinder. The Russian guy had 1 more target to shoot and had to reload. He reloaded and fired twice and got it. Range officer called time and asked him to clear his weapon, the Russian had just started to walk back tot he bench.
Sure as hell, he turns back around holds the wepaon out gangsta style and "BAM BAM BAM" down the range.

I thought it was funny as hell, seeing this big Russian named Andre blasting a S&W 500 Mag G style while the range officers eyes get big as pie plates.

OMG that thing is crazy!

I like this pic, not sure exactly what it is (except being the end of the pistol) or does but it looks good, and i bet its the blast/flash that comes out of those grills, is so that most look quality when fired, a proper mans gun.

I like this pic, not sure exactly what it is or does but it looks good, and i bet its the blast/flash that comes out of those grills, is so that most look quality.

Thats the compensator. It helps reduce muzzle flip and recoil by channeling the gasses.
