picture taken with a Samsung 3 Megapixel phone

impressive for a phone, but the picture is not of good quality. you just can't get as good optics on phones as you can on camreas

there's no point in putting a 3 MP sensor on a phone, the optics suck so you won't get a good picture regardless of the sensor (case in point, that picture is blurry as hell).

True but most people know the limitations of phone cameras. This still looks 1000x better than any cameraphone image I have seen.

I concur.

Its only use is as a marketing gimmick. 1 MP sufficient for the quality that the optics achieve; it's not like you're going to be printing posters with the pics you took with your phone.

Probably they will improve its quality.
Give them a break. It's just one of the first 3mp phone.

why not just get a real digital camera with a higher megapixel count?

Do you carry digicam all the time?
If they improve the quality of the picture and drop the price about half, I will definitly get one.

are you guys kidding. Its a damn phone, thats 1000000 times better than any pic off a camera phone i've ever seen. I wish my sanyo 8100 took anything close to that. Everyone is so pessimistic around here. It would be great to have a phone with good pics for the spur of the moment pics when i dont have my digicam. jeez

Aye

More than 1.3MP (1024*768) isn't really useful on phone. They really need better lens than those pinhole things they have nowadays.

But MPs sell, so I its doubtful they'll change...

Cool. Looks like poo, but cool none the less.

Honestly, I feel anything larger than 3.0mp is starting to become overkill. I dont' always feel like clicking on a 500~kb JPG, and scrolling around a 3000x2000 image to view the whole thing.

2mp would be perfect for a phone.

So people understand why it's crap... Compare it to 3MP :camera:s.

That pic sucks for 3MP, be it phone, camera, or gizmo. It's an oversized file for the image quality.
