Does anyone know of a file extension *.r01 or *.r02 (I believe it deals with winRAR)

If it helps it is from Russia. I have trouble opening them. I have a *.exe, *.r00, and a *.r01
They will not open, what should I do?

It's an extension from a compression format called *.RAR

Rar is a format that can compress and split large files into smaller files. The 1st part is given the extension *.rar, then *.r00, *.r01, and so on...

You changed your message on me while I was typing the previous answer :|

Anyway, you're missing the *.r00 file.

Shmorq,
sorry I mistyped it. I do have *.exe, *.r00, and a *.r01
but I still have trouble opening them.

If you double click on the *.exe file, it will automatically uncompress the contents of the *.exe file, and then move on to the next one which is the *.r00 file and so on...

If this doesn't work, it means that one of the files is corrupted or there are more parts to the entire archive.

I have the three files on three differnet floppy disks. and I can't load them onto my computer. could the three disks, not one be a problem?

I've never tried uncompressing directly from floppies. I normally copy all the files into 1 directory. If you're having problems copying the files, something is wrong with either the disks or your floppy drive. And if you CAN copy them, but can't uncompress them, the data is corrupted.
