I have found a really good deal on a digital camera (Canon S300 for around $290), but I'm just wondering how much I'd use it. I'm currently a senior in HS, and not that many guys I've seen my age take pictures - usually its the girls. And I know that if I buy this now, although this is an amazing deal, a year from now there will definitely be higher picture quality/small sized digital cameras available for probably less money. I'm going to college next fall, and I kind of think it wouldn't be useful there - how often am I going to take pictures of random things? - even though this is one badass looking camera. Do you think I should get one? Also I'm kind of a klutz (although I take care of expensive stuff as best as I can), so I'm not so sure its a great idea. Those of you who have one, how often do you use it? Is it sort of just a 'toy' to you?

And just to appease those of you who are looking for pics, here you go, from this month's PC Magazine:

One of the coolest ads ever!

Get it. I just bout a Sony DSC-P5 when I had normal SLR camera I never used. Why? because developing pics is kind of a hassle and to store it all is annoying ,and how often do I break out my pics, never. With my digicam I just drop onto the HD and since i'm always on my computer I look at them more often since there are some good memories in them. ON top of that they are great to send ot friends via email. Also, if it takes movies, they are great too. The ease of putting the pics on your computer and if your camera fits in your pocket like mine, then you'll take pics. I carry mine everywhere and it's kind of fun to capture stuff I wouldn't have before simply because it wasn't feasible. Dont' worry about technology, I wanteda 3 megapixel camera and now I realize I only use the 2 megapixel quality level, hehe. It's a good buy, go for it.
