Every article I've read on writing a cover letter says to specifically address the cover letter to the individual you are sending the resume to instead of "To Whom it May Concern".

Here's her/his name: Terri

Gaaaahhh! I hate sexually ambiguous names!!! Any guesses on if I should address it Ms. or Mr.??

I'm thinking female, but dammit, I'm just not sure.

(Oh yeah see my sig for a pic)

(Hey, I had to get people in this thread somehow!:p)

I would say female. Every male I know with that name spells is "Terry".

An easy way to find out is to call from a payphone, ask to talk to Terry, and when they answer and say hello, hang up. Probably not the smoothest idea, but it would work.

If a secretary asks who is calling, see if you can get by with saying "An old friend, I wanna surprise Terri."

My name is Tony, and I know that if it's spelled Toni, it's usually a girl. I know guys named Terry and girls named Terri, and I don't know any exceptions. If you get it wrong, it's their own fault.

Guess female. You can't go wrong.

If Terri is a female, she won't notice. If Terri is a male, he'll appreciate the insinuation... and he'll probably ask you out!

Terry/Teri/Terri/Theri is a girl's name no matter how you spell it.
