You might need more than the JWT ECU to manage the turbo setup. Usually, people add a piggy-back system that monitors the EGT & boost...unless your JWT ECU is specially programmed for a turbocharger add on...even then you need a turbo timer and boost controller at the very least.

The JWT ECU is set up for boost, larger injectors, cams, and nitrous. I do have a turbo timer and a greddy boost controller.

mid-11 to low 12s in a FWD?

That must mean you're pushing 500~ FWhp. Does it feel anywhere near that fast?

I'm running 17.5 psi intercooled. It feels like a bat out of hell. Now let me clarify, I'm hoping for mid 11's to low 12's. There's another maxima (same generation) running 12.6 on a t3/t4 hybrid with a basically stock heads/engine on street tires not slicks. I'm running a GT30r turbo, i've got the biggest cams u can fit in the heads before having to modify the heads, ported and polished heads, ferrea oversized valves, unorthodox racing pulley, 1 7/8 Stainless headers, Full 3 inch exhaust. so i think i can knock off .6 secs from his time with all my mods(of course, this is purely assumption) whatever the outcome, i'll keep u guys posted.

So youre pretty much crazy right?

Why didnt you just get a Silvia? You could have gotten a front end and put everything together for what youve put into yourMmaxima. Then again I do suppose that youre Maxima is more unique - I havent seen many turbo maxies even though you know someone apparently.

nice that you are gonna have a 11/12 second maxima (very special) my friend has a 11/12 secs dodge stealth - love the feel of it.

i personally woulda put that $ into a 'better' car but it's nice to have a unique car thats fast 😉 people will be looking at you as you blow by them in a maxima 😉

I own a few other cars also, but my max has always been my favorite. It's something different. Don't get me wrong, i'd love a 240 also, but it's already been seen/done. I like the sleeper look and the styling of a 3rd gen maxima.

actually there are a few 4th gen maximas running 12s with around 400fwhp...not 500fwhp..of course thats on slicks.

you gotta realize that teh gearing on the 5-spd manual transmission is PERFECT for the VQ engine's powerband....it's what gives teh car the speed..seriously. that and it's light weight.

btw, any videos of the 3rd gen turbo? I'd love to hear it sound.

have you heard 'Ceasar's Chariot's (username on Maxima.org forums) maxima? that sounds sick!

it sounds like a big block V8 at idle

Everyone said I should have put money into a better car, but I love the 3rd gen Maxima. 🙂

I actually raced a CRX the other day. I didn't want to race, but after he revved his engine, (which sounded like a lawnmower), I couldn't help but race him. I left him in the dust. 😀 Funny thing is, after I let him catch up, it turned out to be a friend I haven't seen in years. 😱

I'd love to try to get a video uploaded. My digital camera does movies, so I should be able to have a video up sometime in the afternoon, so you can hear it. I don't think I hav heard Ceasar Chariot's Maxima. I think I will have to check that out. I would love to hear how his Maxima sounds! 🙂

yeah, ceasar chariot's max sounds really nice and he has some videos and stuff on his website of his car on the strip. i think his best is 14.1 all motor.
