If you're going to repaint the entire car, at least pick a good colour. :p

He did... he picked a combination of all of the colors in the visible spectrum... :)

Well, one thing's for sure, it definitely looks better than it did before. And for $350, there are worst investments.

Why so many people bashing white?

Let me guess, you all prefer black or silver right?

I told them to paint the molding & badging.

It's a special edition supra called the All White package. only appear in 91 & 92 models.

The whole car is painted white, including molding & rims.

So i Think i wanted mine to look like it.

how much would a quality paint job cost if not at maaco? and from where/what national garage? It looks decent enough for $350, but since some of you bash him for going Maaco, what recommendations can you give?

You get what you pay for.

Do you really think your 350$ paint job comes close to something you can get for $3500?

Of course it looks better than the way it did before, but for how long? That's what cheap paint jobs don't do; stand the test of time.

People always rag on Maaco... but it's always up to the actual painter as to how good it is.

I had Maaco paint my 91 Saturn about 5 years ago, and the total out the door, was $230.

It looks great... I thought.

How much extra would Maaco charge to apply some "Type-R" stickers?

Oh, the paint job does look pretty good for the amount you paid. I don't think white looks bad on the Supra.

I doubt he expects it to look like a 3500 dollar paint job. But if your car just plain isn't worth a paint job that expensive, you don't have 3500 dollars anyway, and your current paint is just peeling off, why not? Not everyone values an uber l337 expensive paint job.

For $350 they don't pull bodypanels off. Hell for $1500 I don't know anyone who pulls body panels off.

The OP could get it painted 4 times at that price and still be cheaper than a top end paint job. I used to do my own paint then I got a neighbor to do it for a case of beer. Its really not that hard to spray once you mess around with the gun. The paint I liked the best was International Tractor paint red *L* Cheap as dirt and held up well.

for $350 its not bad i guess. i mean i see paint all over your weatherstripping and stuff - but in a nutshell, you did not waste your time and money on sand paper prepping the car - they would have charged you for all that had you not done it

How about the "Turbo" sticker? They didn't charge me anything for the "Turbo" sticker. They just paint over it.

And yes..with that sticker. my car can kick your car's ass.

The 91 + 92 model supra came out of the factory look just like that. It's called the All White Package where body molding, rims, and the rest of the car are white.
