I moved down to Hilton Head Island, SC last weekend to start my job this past Monday and between work and settling in, I just got all my stuff unpacked this afternoon. There's been a couple other new apartment show and tell threads, so I figured what the heck. There's a few places that need some work, mainly the way the wires are run. I've got a big pile of coax and cat5 laying around because the cable company only activated one of the two coax outlets in the apartment. I meant to buy some tape to take care of the wires a little bit but I managed to forget it when I was at Wal-mart yesterday. At any rate, here's the pics:

Like what? Some lotion (yeah, yeah, but I do use it for my hands. I have dry knuckles), the charger for my razor, shaving cream, hair gel, soap, cologne, contact solution, and a glass. Doesn't really strike me as weird.

Edit: :) Thanks, Nik.

Haha. Well, it was cheap. Cheap is good. And my grandma gave me the little bottle.

Amol: Yeah, that might be a good thing to do at some point. Not sure how well it'd turn out, though, since I don't have a tripod.

cmv: There's not much out there except a row of parking and some garages across the street, but I can take pics tomorrow when it's light if you really want to see it. What might be better, though, is the view on the backside of the building. There's a lagoon and a pool on the other side, and I think the clubhouse/fitness center is there, as well.

GZDynastar: I have no idea where those slippers came from. One of my grandpas gave them to me years ago. I have absolutely no idea where he got them. They're darn comfortable (and warm), though. I do know, that. And those Vans aren't too bad, either, once I got them broken in. They were hell at first: there's a ribbing kind of tread on the bottom and it always got stuck on my clutch and made it really difficult to drive my car. Now that they're worn in, though, they're quite comfortable.

Sphexi: I love my Foreman. I haven't used it since I moved in, but I'm thinking I'm going to grill up some chicken tomorrow for dinner.

Pablo: Is it that obvious that I'm a huge Clemson fan? :p I showed the pics to one of my friends and he said there was too much Clemson stuff. I'm pretty sure that's not possible. There's more on the way, too. I have a panoramic photo of the Florida State game in 1999 (you may have seen the picture before; it was when we were leading 17-14, I think) that's going to be hung up over the entertainment center, right above the section of goalpost, which coincidentally, is also from a Florida State game, the 26-10 victory two years ago. I'm supposed to have a section of the goalpost from the 100th game against USC, too, but we never got around to cutting that piece up. I'll have to get on my friend about that, but he's in Auburn for grad school now and I dunno when I'll see him. Both those pieces of goalpost would make a good addition to my living room, I think.

What kind of laptop is that?

Where did you buy that entertainment center?

Ha ha... I might have helped carry that piece of the goalpost from the FSU game in 2004! I had some seats from Littlejohn that I was going to mount on a stand for my room , but we left them in a closet in lightsey bridge apartments before we moved out... :(

What are you doing in Hilton Head for a job?

NiKeFiDO: Yeah, I like it quite a bit. Although I come home from work and I feel quite inadequate. My boss spung for a 19" ViewSonic (I think, but I can't remember the model number) for my desk. Very nice. A bit overkill, but it sure is nice.

RossMAN: That laptop is the one you actually helped me pick out about a year and a half ago. It's an HP ZT3000. And the entertainment center is from Wal-mart, I think. I've had it for a few years, actually, but I'm pretty sure it's from Wal-mart and it was like $150 or something. Darn nice piece of furniture for how much it cost.

Pablo: Do you mean 2003? That's the game that goalpost is from. The game last year was the one they won like 40-20 or something, and it was in Tallahassee. The USC goalpost that I hope to obtain was from 2002, when we won 27-20, I think it was. I've got the commemorative ticket from that game around here somewhere, along with my ticket from the Peach Bowl last January. We had to work for that FSU goalpost, though. And it went on quite a journey. We carried it up Fort Hill St., hung a left at Brackett, took it across Bowman, and tried to take it downtown, but the cops were there with mace. We didn't much like that, so we turned around and went past the Carillon Garden and to the reflecting pond where it ended up in the pond. Some guys went out and straddled it and rode it around while other people went to get hacksaws and then we divvied it up. A couple friends and I ended up with about 3 feet of it and we split it up after we got back to our apartment. He's the same guy who has my section of the USC goalpost. I really need to see about getting that.

As for the job, I'm working as a web developer for a small company on the island. Trying to get some experience since my grades were merely average in school. And trying to not spend too much money living here, haha.

Great laptop, I love the Compaq X1000/HP ZT3000 series.

Agreed. It's served me pretty well, save for some glitch with the keyboard, but HP was quick on the repair and I had it back in like 3 days. And then the hard drive failed last summer, but they sent a new one right out and all was well.
