you're not utilizing the case to full capacity. you'd be challenged to pretty your rig with the addition of drives [even just raid], usb card reader, brackets -- as others have. it will very quickly look less neat when you no longer have the luxury to dedicate single power cables to each drive as you do now. but then again, that would go against the "as few as possible" method you've impressed everybody with. the p180 can take 11 drives(?)... you're using 4 yes? not even a floppy? or not connected yet?.

with all due respect, i'm interested to know what you can do with something properly challenging... your setup is rather elementary by skilled people's standards. your cable management to true cable management is what a juggler of 3 is to a juggler of 10... the juggler of 10 might make it in America's Got Talent.

you wouldn't happen to be asian would you?

can we get pics of "a juggler of ten" wire management job?

yea, i would really like to see this.
something thats not "elementary"
and MORE practical then what
dynamic has done.

sure its capable of 11 hd's.
but, for example:
why get 2 80gb when
you can have 1 160gb?
"less is more" is it not?

my EXACT sentiments ~

raid, nas... it varies with need does it not? and i acknowledge the need (or lack there of) of this person. a micro atx with nsk3400 would have sufficed -- can anyone argue? on a grander scale, one can have several pc's: NAS, print server, Internet Connection sharing PC, desktop.... OR a P180 loaded and utilized to full capacity. less is more? absolutely... but clearly you weren't thinking at that level.
it wasn't my intention to upset the... fan club ~

Nice case!

NF4 chipsets are all set up for dual-channel that way. The ram stays cooler when you have only 2 sticks because they aren't right next to each other. Dunno if that's WHY they do it that way, but on NF4 it's always been 1+3 and 2+4 for dual-channel mode.

very nice job

wish i had the patience to undo the rats' nest that infests the bottom of my p180. if only the motherboard were positioned an inch higher (and there is space inside the case for them to have done exactly that).

I read this thread back when it first was posted and it made me want to run out and get a P180. Great work before and after the upgrades.

So I finally got around to getting one, since I was tired of the jet-turbine whine of all the 80mm's in my old 1080AMG.

I was cramming in 3 SATA drives in the lower bay, 1 EIDE in the upper, a floppy and 2 Optical drives. I think if I ditched the floppy, drive in the upper bay, and routed a couple more fan & PSU cables behind the motherboard I might eventually get a bit closer to your level of clean.

Here's what I ended up with..

I did notice the HEC PSU I threw in this box left very little room between the fan and the cable bundle.

I'm planning on doing a Conroe and HDD upgrade soon, so hopefully it'll only get better! Thanks for showing what's possible with some patience!

I also recently got a P180. I'll post pics of not-so-hot cabling job soon. The OP's cabling job is simply amazing - working with this case myself, I couldn't believe how neat he got it! It takes hours just to build it for the first time (once most of the components are set up, swapping boards and stuff isn't so bad).

I have a P180B though, and it's gorgeous. Black finish looks sick!

BTW, the OP's case is one of the cleanest and neatest wiring jobs I've ever seen! 10/10

Yeah, he ran it under the mobo. My wire isn't long enough and frankly I don't give a damn enough to tuck it under the board. Perhaps my next build ;) .

Thanks, jiffylube1024. I'm looking forward to working with this case. It's something new for me.

I've had Antec 10XX style cases for...man...10 years now? Aside from the two servers I built (in E-ATX cases), I've used nothing but the Antec 10XX style (includes the SX835II case) for 10 years! :Q

With the PS on the bottom like that, a neat cabling job is daunting. But, if the OP can do it, we can too.

Yeah, right. I'll be lucky if mine looks HALF as good as his. BTW; looking at that pic again, I think he's using an extension cable on the square, 4-pin MB power plug. I don't have one of those. AND I have the exact same PS as he does. Guess I won't be running it under the board then. :(

Same boat as you, I've got the case sitting here waiting for a 680i motherboard and g80 (among other things). It is a dead sexy case, and bigger than anything I've worked with up to now. I can't wait, myself :).

I don't think he ran wires under the motherboard based on the pics in the OP... He merely used the space 'behind' (to the right of) the two drive cages in the top section. Seems simple enough, and there's plenty of space back there.

I haven't gotten the case yet, but rest assured, I will be examining it closely to check for hiding places for wires. :)

I haven't used a different case in years, so I've got all the Antec 10xx hiding spots/tie-down spots memorized. The P180 will be a new thing for me.

Obviously, the case has no window, so I'm not going to go completely nutso on the wiring, but I do want optimal airflow b/c I'm intending on having all the fans on LOW. My current case has 4, 80mm fans, and even though they are low speed Panaflos, they are 5-6 years old and noisy now. You definitely can hear it across the room :(
