I don't understand. How is this possible? Is this a normal practice? Just leaving it open like that? Does it hurt when you touch it? Does the gauze get all sticky?

The doctors said they normally don't have to do it but my leg was so swollen it was going to cut off the circulation and kill my leg.

edit: yes it hurts like hell to touch. the gauze sticks to it, then when i get it changed the gauze pulls off the top layer where it is starting to heal
