the path used to be a railroad. the city has invested pretty heavily in bicycle communter paths and lanes...

you ever heard of the bike trail from elroy to sparta (near la crosse)?

yeah the elroy sparta trail... i haven't rode it, but i hear its beautiful.... http://www.great-trails.com/elroy.shtml

i rode it once last summer, and youre right, its absolutely amazing looking. its fun to bike one way, camp out for the night, and bike back the next day.

That's so sweet.

I want a road bike now... to add to having my Gary Fisher MTB :)

when I come across like 2 grand, I'll get a nice new road bike! :D

That's nice that they have lines down the middle. I hate it when I come up on people riding side by side and the morons just block the whole path.

it really is. I ride in and get from door to door FASTER than if I drive. The commute is only 5 miles, 3.5 of which are on that trail. The trail intersects with 4 roads, so its easy to average 15 mph.
