No. You don't have to script you're troubleshooting... but, you do have something called support boundaries. Theres a line, and things you can and can not do/say. Even if it is 'better' or more efficient.... when the customer calls back, and an agent can't fix their problem... they'll start thinking it was because another tech was doing things differently, etc...

I use to work there to doing the same thing, kind of boring and required overtime ...

Heh I work for one of the on-site warranty service providers, and I was just wondering if you guys really check to see it we are DCSE certified. Recently the dell techs have been asking for my DCSE id so I was curious as to what you guys do with it. Oh yeah, congrats on the new job!

Some of the guys are over qualified they were system admins and stuff like that, me two years of college and MS, Cisco and A+ certs but no experience.
