Pics for WinXP

I kinda like the new logon screen...

That start menu is horrifying though.

And I must say the pastel blue makes it look somewhat like Mac OS...I really don't like that...horrifying doesn't begin to describe it...

OT:
Hey GT, did you see my decision on that thread at 3dss? I'm a little broke ATM but next time I have cash I'm going to get myself a set of BA4800 and WinDVD 2.3M 🙂 I don't use TV-out much (in fact I don't even own a TV right now) and if I do...well I'll pass that bridge when I come to it 🙂

Wow, that's pretty horrible. It's like running MSN Explorer as your desktop. I would rather go back to the command prompt than use that new Explorer. I hope there is a way to disable all that junk.

is this going forward ... or sideways

no doubt it will mess our beloved systems up for those of us that "must have the latest ..."

😀

YUCK!
I tried the beta briefly, but even that didnt look that grotesque!
WTF is wrong Microsoft.
Oh dont bother answering that, wouldnt wanna overload the poor NT server running the database...

WTF... they made a good jump from 98 to ME and 2K... but WTF is this POS? That thing looks like some kiddie interface. Little cute icons everywhere, and what's up with the color system? Christ, there better be a way to revert back to the Win2K look. It's obvious they are gonna try to sell this OS in some other products around the house... UGH! I mean I get my M$ stuff for free through the school, but I'd be hesitant about installing that crap on my comp.

<< That thing looks like some kiddie interface. Little cute icons everywhere, and what's up with the color system? >>

As I said, it reminds me of MacOS. I'm glad I made the Switch to Win2k. And there I will stay for some time meethinks.

Don't worry. You can still revert to the old interface. Actually, I've heard talk that XP will offer a totally skinable interface. That should be cool.

luv2chill,
COOL... but damn, what about the performance issues? I don't even have Active Desktop installed because I feel that it slows down my system...

I'll more than likely revert to the old interface until I can think of something cool and unobtrusive. Skins... kick ass!!!

Noriaki,
MacOS doesn't look that bad!!! I hate Macs myself, but this thing looks worse.

WinXP will follow in the foot steps of Windowns MediaPlayer 7.0 and will allow for multiple skinz. The world is going towards personalization anyway.

Mac OSX is not that bad, IMO. Since it is based on Unix, I want to know if PCs will be able to use it, and if so, if it could perform as well as Win2K.

MS Media Player 7.0 is suck! You still can't totally revert back to the old functionality of the 6.0 version 🙁 I have a feeling I'm going to hate Windows XP because of the fact of the looks...

OMG that interface looks horrid! :| Not very professional OR cool looking. I definitly hope XP is skinable so if I ever do install it, I can get rid of that so called "user-friendly" crap.

Ok, so like back in 1984, it looks as if Micro$oft is trying to copy Apple again. I mean the 3D icons look like a rip from OSX. But does WinXP have OpenGL and QuickTime imbedded into the OS like OSX?

Blah blah blah and Apple copied Xerox. The only thing that matters is if it is improved or not. The interface looks like it is designed for mentally challenged blind children.

The "enhanced" Start Menu is a joke. I already have a place for my frequently used programs (the Windows toolbar and 3 additional one click cascade buttons of about 25 programs each) and rarely use the Start Menu anyway. When I used ME I always disabled the re-ordering "feature". In fact, I renamed my Start Menu to "Go" and changed the Windows logo to a smiley face. And jiminy, look at the size they think people want to use it at. So, ideally (in their opine) if you want to run something from the Start Menu, instead of moving the mouse cursor 1 inch you have to move it half way across the screen?!

As for that My Pictures type crap, well that's just more crap in the fine tradition of Paint and Minesweeper and that cheesy Movie Maker for people that apparently have no access to the world of non-MS throw-in products, or no clue that real useful and/or entertaining programs even exist.

/rant 😛

OMG what IS all that crap

Microsoft obviously thinks we all have MHz to burn.

What's the old joke about Microsoft "brakes" - well here we go again...

what a bunch of sniveling whiners, when it comes out you will buy it and use it so just shut up, if u pirate it theres probably things embedded into the code to track you.
