Anyone have a good idea for a maximum picture size? I was thinking 300k -- would that be too limiting?

300k is fine, they need to learn to resize those PNG's and JPEG's.

Who needs to view an image on a monitor over 300K?

I always resize to somewhere around 150K.

Photoshop/file/save for web.

300K seems pretty reasonable to me. If need be, you could probably even go a bit lower than that. (I don't upload pics there, but I do know I don't need a 1600 x 1200 image of something to be able to get the point across)
