Small website I made for my trip ...

This isn't even all of my pics heh, and it's most of my videos. I just take pics of everything to basically document my trip when I go.

Cancun definitely was a blast. I went from July 18th to July 25th. I stayed in Saturday night because my body was just telling me to give it a break heh, and having to wake up at 8am the following day also convinced me it would probably be a good idea. It was probably the best decision I could have made the entire trip :)

I did a bunch of stuff ranging from swimming with dolphins, to snorkelling in the 2nd largest reef in the world, to swimming in underground rivers (Senote's in spanish), ziplining over Mayan grounds, and visited the Isla Mujeres.

Well enjoy the pics, because I know I definitely enjoyed taking them :)

Oh yah I also got engaged on the trip :p

Nice trip and pics:)
We've been to Cancun and Cozumel, and decided we would not stay in Cancun itself again.
I'd rather stay south on the beach around Playa Del Carmen. After your trip, what do you think about that? I notice you did a lot of things down that way.

I went there before, but I went to the Sun Palace near Senior Frogs (great place!). Did you take a taxi everywhere? Did those crazy Mexican drivers slow down at all of the speed bumps? lol.

Congrats man! Sounds like you did the more exciting tours. I kinda wish I'd done the cenotes (sp?) when I was there back in April. We only did Isla Mujeres and the jungle boats, and then we drove down to Tulum to see the ruins.

BTW did you spend any time in Playa del Carmen? If not, I highly suggest you check it out (or Cozumel) if you ever decide to make a return trip!

I didn't stay in Playa Del Carmen. We wanted the night life and craziness of Cancun which is why we picked there to stay, and we definitely got it :) Also we were going to possibly take a day trip to Cozumel but opted out after talking to some people. Not because it was a bad place, but because we had already done everything that we would have been doing there.

Actually we didn't take a taxi once. We were in walking distance to all the night life. We took the bus a few times but never had to take a cab.

Thanks man :)

And as I stated right above, we did not go to Playa Del Carmen or Cozumel. The ATV on the Isla Mujeres was one of my favorite things we did because of seeing the other side of the island. Simply beautiful!

That looks and sounds like an awesome vacation. What kind of price range would you attach to it?

Flight + Hotel + ride to/from airport was $1600 for me and my fiance.

Over there we spent probably $2200 or around there, but could greatly have been cut down if we didn't eat out all the time (almost all the time) and didn't party most nights, and if we didn't waste our time going to The City ($60 total) on the last night because we left there w/in an hour and paid $70 total to get into Daddy O's.

But out of the $$ we had saved up for the trip, we actually had money left over when we got back.

how do you not get sick with all the drinks down there? as in spending half your vacation sitting on the toilet.

what you mean? cause they use rail liquor a lot at those bars heh?

the only place they actually used rail liquor was that place, The City, and that was part of the reason we left. well one other place we went to called Congo had rail liquor, but it was $10 for girls to get into, $20 for guys, and once we realized it was rail liquor, all we did was get beer the rest of the night.

and i was actually feelin like crap my 4th day, which had been after 3 nights of straight drinking, and a previous day of drinking all day at the Isla Mujeres (and on the booze cruise there and back). that was part of the reason we stayed in Saturday night.

Ahh, well definitely put Playa on the list for your next visit if you decide to go back to the Yucatan. I stayed in Cancun when I went but I preferred the atmosphere of PdC. The problem with Cancun is that its all very "touristy" and the focus tends to be on the hotels. So you have the huge mega-resorts and you need to take the bus/taxi to get anywhere else. But PdC has a much more European flair to it--you've got all the boutique hotels, bars, restaurants, lounges/cafes and shops and everything within walking distance. Its much more densely packed, so it actually felt livelier than Cancun at night. And they've got some GREAT clubs--Blue Parrot was my best night out during the trip!

PdC definitely feels more "grown up" but its by no means tame! I guess Cancun caters to younger Americans in their teens and early 20s, while PdC is more for hipster types in their mid- to late-20s / early 30s from North America, Latin America and Europe.
