Both the previous generation Durango and Dakota looked A LOT better than these new versions IMHO.

It's like they had three different design teams, gave one the front 1/3, one the middle 1/3, and one the final 1/3 told them to do their own thing and then they pieced the parts together.

*shudders*

That thing just has too much going on with it.

It's good to know the Aztek stylists found work in the auto industry again. I would have thought the beatings they recieved would have driven them to fast food employment.

Meh.. it's ok... I like the pic of the Titan further down the page.

The more I see the Titan pickups the more I think I want one. They pretty much pwn every other full size, don't they?

Just like any of the new dodge trucks, the same as the have been since the early 90's. I'd buy just about any other truck over a dodge any day, they are overpriced and last I've delt with them, unreliable (simply my experience). Give me a ford.

It's ugly, even a hemi won't help it any.

My 94' Dakota V6 has had a radiator, w/p and ignition switch. At 100k it uses 1/2qt
of oil between 3k changes and I drive it hard.

That yellow truck is a Titan! The mirrors and fender flares look like a throw back to the 70's. Looks OK in a retro sort of way..:)

I agree, but all the reviews say the new Durango is much improved.

[sarcasm]that thing got a hemi?[/sarcasm] Answer: NO!

New Dakotas cost close to the cost of the Ram. WTF!

My beater('91 Dakota w/ fuel injected 318, 8 ft. bed) was a steal. Got it for $6500 in '95 with 19K mi.

Who is going to buy this? Even us domestic fans are shaking our heads.

Dodge's 2005 Dakota gets brand-new sheetmetal and a new fully-boxed frame, new front and rear suspensions and a pair of V-8 engines. Dodge says the new Dakota is 3.7 inches longer and 2.7 inches wider than before, and retains its 7000-lb towing capacity. The standard engine is a 3.7-liter Magnum V-6 with 210 horsepower; a 4.7-liter V-8 has 230 horsepower and the new High Output Magnum V-8 will sport 250-plus horsepower, Dodge says. The Dakota will only come as a four-door: in Club Cab configuration the doors are rear-hinged, and in the Quad Cab front-hinged. Dual-stage front airbags and an occupant-sensing system for the passenger-side front air bag are standard, while side curtain airbags are an option.

It's nice, I like the muscular style front fenders how they flare out, I think after I get used to it I'll like it.
the current design is getting dated.

People who buy trucks based on what they look like shouldn't be driving them anyway.

Meh. All other things being equal, I'd rather drive a truck that doesn't look like a turd with wheels, thank-you-very-much! :)

Besides, the Dakota appeal has been somewhat of a mystery to me.

They cost extremely close to a similar full size p/up, get virtually the same milage as a full size and are smaller.

Chances are quite good that if a Dakota will fit in your garage, so will a full size 1/2T of some sort of configuration.

Pay the same, get less IMHO.

Then I guess that the '94 Ram should have flopped

werd...plus the engine is going to SUCK compared to the 05 Frontier with the 4.0L 250hp V6. This will have either a 3.7 210hp V6 or the 4.7-liter V-8 with 230hp. Plus this makes Fords V6 4.0 out of the Ranger look even more lame.... Why can't American cars get more HP or Torque than foreign?
