Picky eaters are childish and need to grow up

We had food brought in by one of the drug reps. My coworker opened up one of the wraps and said, "if there's onions in here, i'm gonna toss it. I hate onions"

Sure enough he saw onion and promptly threw the whole wrap uneaten into the trash can and went on picking through the rest of the food.

What a fucking idiot

Rep's fault for not providing a manual showing disassembly instructions for removing unwanted components.

Picky eating is fine as long as you keep it as your own issue, and don't fuck up other people's shit.
Although I guess if you do that it would be being "grown up" rather than kicking up a fuss like a kid.

I'm a picky eater, but just like everything else (religion, politics, sex, etc) there's always a polite, subtle way of handling things. That guy was an idiot, and you can tell him I said it.

Chiros and PTs flood our office with food all the time too hoping we'll send them business. Half the shit gets thrown away at the end of the day because there's way too much even after people make doggy bags to take home.
Even worse is that some of these "health care providers" send donuts and chocolate instead of veggies trays or something "healthy". :\

Food allergies can be deadly to a person. Many kids die each year from food allergies. The days of a mom baking and bringing food into a classroom has been over for quite some time without the specific ingredients given to the teacher so that it can be check for specific allergies. Are these kids and specific parents picky eaters? Yes, and their life depends on it.

agreed. Though, if it was mayo and not onions, I would have tossed the open sandwich into the rep's face, because they would have deserved it.

Un-labeled mayo should be a federal offense.

Clearly your example is exactly what the OP is talking about.

But seriously.....where the fuck did peanut allergies come from?

No one in the world (except maybe you) talks about allergies when discussing picky eaters.
Avoiding food because you have allergies isn't being a picky eater.

I don't want to live on the same planet as mayo-haters.

My daughter hates eggs and this is exactly why once in a while we make eggs and tell her to toughen up, quit whining, and eat them.

No one needs to cater to your likes and dislikes and, in the name of common courtesy, once in a while you just need to suck it up and eat something you don't care for.

If I bite into an onion, I'm spitting it out. Those things are foul. Not even catsup and mayo can overcome that nastiness.

And then the aftertaste that persists for hours.

Garlic is the same way, but it's added to so many things.
Nasty stuff.

Oh, and olives. I was surprised to find that olives are such a huge industry/obsession. Utterly and detestably gross.
Olive oil: It's alright. Like a lot of similar oils, there's not much taste to it, but it's good for wetting down an otherwise dry italian sandwich.

Especially when they put it on a burger.

I know, right?

This is one of the most egregious offenses: "Italian" sub/panini/sandwich, whatever, at just about any deli or shitty local joint you find. Guess what--these assholes want to put mayo on it by default!

This makes no sense, as you would never see such a vile inclusion on any real Italian sandwich.

exactly.

We have a rule with the kids. Whatever we make they need to try. Even if it's something we had before and they said they don't like. kids taste change over time.

Sure there are things my kids don't like. My daughter hates taco's. so we have them when she ain't around. My son will eat damn near anything.

Other then the taco's i can't think of anything my kids won't eat.

My nephew though. My SIL only gives him hot dogs. they buy them in bulk and whenever go over they always have them. the rest of the family is eating grilled burgers/steaks/chicken whatever. he is having boiled hotdogs..

it's a pain in the ass when he stays the night. last few times i refused to even have hotdogs in the house. He did eat the saled and chicken we had.

as a adult? suck it up.
