Hey guys, I am getting on VZW and was looking at phones. I dont like the 4 inch plus size screen phones, so it seemed like my only option was the droid 2 and original incredible. They both have 3.7inch screens which is perfect size for me and my pocket lol. I ended up ordering a incredible. I dont like the super amoled screen due to the colors looking to exaggerated of the fascinate nor the screen size. I just dont know if I made the right choice going with the incredible as it is like a year old.

I am coming from virgin mobile and a lg optimus v. How big of a difference is there between the optimus and the incredible performance wise? I liked the optimus but after messing with the droid 2 in store it made me realize the optimus was a turd and sprint coverage in my area is so hit or miss.

I like the fact I am going from virgin to VZW, from 3.2 inch screen to 3.7, from LG to HTC and from a 600mhz cpu to a 1ghz cpu. I just really had no other options besides the d2 or the incredible unless I stepped up to a larger screen which I didnt want to do

I assume you're set on Android? If not I'd look at the iPhone 4.

If you are set on Android those are probably your two best options. If you like the physical keyboard the D2 has an edge but the Incredible is a "nicer" phone in my opinion. You can also look at a cheaper phone like the LG Ally or Vortex but they lack power compared to these two.

IIRC Verizon will be bringing WP7 to the market soon so that may be another options, but I'm not sure about when exactly.

The best small screen on Verizon is the iPhone...

DInc is actually faster than the Optimus and has a billion ROMs, but battery life isn't great. Honestly, I wouldn't have gotten a new one on contract, but YMMV.

The Incredible 2 (while the screen is a little larger than the 3.7) is a pretty small phone yet. So the size of the phone is about the same, just a bigger screen. I'm not sure if your concern was the overall size of the phone, or if you don't like the look/resolution of a 4"+ screen.

I cannot get a inc2 for a decent price, its $200 and I just cannot afford to spend that much on a phone. Coming from my optimus modded to a stock inc should still be a big difference, then modding the inc should make it even better

I am getting on my mothers family plan and she said I have to get the phone from a store, either VZW or Best Buy. I ordered the inc from the VZW store on saturday.

See I started the plan using a phone I already owned. My mother ordered a droid 2 and I ordered the inc from the VZW site inside the store on saturday. Can I just have my mother log into her account and remove the inc from the order and still keep her D2 and not get charged a restocking fee for not keeping the inc?

Then could I just go to BB with my mom and get the fascinate for free and walk out the store with it?

Inc2 has a front camera, more RAM, and (I think) better battery life.
Fascinate has a stronger GPU, excellent headphone DAC, and an open bootloader. (You literally can't root the Inc2 yet.)

Inc2 has SLCD, Fascinate has SAMOLED -- most people prefer the latter, but you seem to prefer the former.

See on saturday the inc and D2 were $49.99 then today when I check BB the fascinate is free, if this would of been the case saturday I would of just said screw it and got the fascinate even tho I dont like that big of a screen.

I just need to know if I can return the Inc to the VZW store without paying a restocking fee. The phones have more then likely shipped all ready and I am sure I cant cancel the inc from the order.

Realistically if I had to pay a $35 restocking fee and get the fascinate for free would that be a better option then getting the incredible 1? it would end up being $15 cheaper paying the restocking fee on the inc and getting the fascinate lol

I just dont know how all this stuff works as I have never had a phone thru VZW, or ordered one and returned it. I know they have that 30 day return policy right? But would the inc getting returned unopened cause me to have to pay the fee.

Well I'm gonna stick to the incredible and see what all I can do with it, from what i've been reading lately the modding community is really into it.

my daughter has the optimus from virgin mobile. youll be happy with the incredible after using it for a while, i almost got it myself. i ended up with the droid X insteda tho, it was a hard decision. i like to tinker, and the Dinc is a faster, more customizable phone than the DX is supposed to be. i liked the huge screen and the HDMI out on it so i ended up with the X. the battery life has been worked out a lot for the inc from what i hear too. good luck and have fun!

I have been reading non stop about the incredible and there are just so many options on customizing this phone. I think it is a no brainer for me to get this phone and just keep it. I liked the optimus at first but after messing with the droid 2, droid x and inc 2 I realized the optimus is a turd in comparison to those phones.

Well today was my first day with the dinc, I got a hard snap case and screen protector on it right away. So far I am really liking this phone, its leaps and bounds better then my optimus. Glad I picked this phone, I need something to mod lol

Edit: nevermind, I see you have the Incredible. If you're feeling adventurous, I'd recommend the Gingerbread upgrade that's floating around (the official leak) or Cyanogen mod if you don't mind losing Sense.
