pickin a chick up for a date...

iam taking a girl out to a casual restaurant on saturday, only thing is, the place is like 5-10 min drive from her house, and like 25 from mine. I think she may have the idea that we should meet there, but i'd rather pick her up myself, how should one go about doing this "hey... ima pick you up, you know, save some gas, and so you wont runaway?"

heh that's funny, i'm in the SAME EXACT situation this saturday...although if she wants to drive there herself i don't really care...

If she suggests meeting you there, say back that you had planned to pick her up and enjoy some conversation with her for the short ride to the restaurant. ... or something like that. But if she insists again on meeting you, then meet her there. If things go well and you decide to go somewhere to do something, she can leave her car at the restaurant for you guys to pick up later. In fact, that is perfect. Because then you do not need to stress each other out by thinking what is going to happen on the doorstep-goodnite...because there will be no doorstep. Ok, I'll stop blabbering...trying to help d00d!

OP, is this the first time you have gone out with her?
I ask because some girls would rather not take ANY chances and just meet their date at the destination. Its probably nothing against you, but if she wants to meet you there, dont force the issue.

If, however, you are just assuming she wants to meet you there, just say, "hey, lets get cocktails before dinner" or whatever then "i will be by at 730, i have everything planned for you to enjoy a nice night out" etc, etc, etc...

if it is the first time going out she may prefer to drive so she escape when she confirms all your undesirable qualities.

I agree with Lola Wiz ... if it's a first date and she seems to want to meet you, don't press it... in fact it gives you and "out" too should it not be working well. That 10 minute drive can be much longer if you have to take her home. If you've been out before and she simply wants to be nice, let her know you'd enjoy her company...

i have same issue, but rather it's not a drive. there's a place out in the city i would like to take her. it's like an hour or so by train. very nice place, very nice girl. don't know if we should go there ... any thoughts?

I suggest you make your decision BEFORE you call....if you call and be like "do you want me to pick you up or...." shes gonna know you are indecisive and ive had no luck with that so far Its best to let her know what you want and let her make a decision from that

lol but seriously...while some of this advice that has been given is good..some just sound corny as FVCK! just let her drive by herself. she wouldnt of mentioned it unless she wanted to. she't not doing it to be nice, she just wants to drive..and like another member said. you can always follow her home and drop her car off later.
