After 4 months, I finally decided on the XC60. Decided not to order one and wait months and found a Volvo XC60 with all of the options I was looking for, though I would have rather had it in Silver or Blue but I'm liking the black. Not looking forward to having to keep it clean all the time. Though the dealership provides me with free lifetime car washes and they're only a couple of miles away.

Here are some pics:

Free car washes inevitably means that your paint will end up looking like it's covered with spiderwebs.

Thanks guys! Been driving the same car for 11 years and the cost to repair/maintain it cost more than it was worth.

It's a neat perk when you live in the frozen wastelands.

Correct. Never heard of it offered before but when I was deciding to go with black and having to deal with washing it all of the time to keep it clean, the sales guys showed me their car wash in the back of the complex and that it's free for customers. When he handed me the booklets today, there was a Volvo VIP pamphlet with all of the perks including Lifetime Car Washes.

I usually like to wash my cars by hand and during the winter, it sucks! I wait for a day that's at least in the mid 30s and then try to do it as fast as possible so that the water doesn't freeze and so my hands don't go numb from squeezing the chamois dry.

May purchase an aluminum rear skid plate and chrome tailpipe tips to give the all black end a little bling.

I just leave my car alone in the winter. Lasts all of 2 hours before it gets dirty again.

Good lookin' car...wonder how the rear cargo space compares to the Tahoe...I don't have time to look up the numbers...

It's not going to be comparable. The XC60 has about 31 cuft of cargo space with the 2nd row seats up and 67 cuft with the 2nd row down. The Tahoe is probably more than double that.

Did they fix the retarded navigation system in it?

Yes, it was replaced starting with 11/10 built vehicles, so new XC60 are really 2011.5's. I did test ride a demo 2011 XC60 build in Oct with the moronic nav system with a joystick on the back of the steer wheeling. The computer screen was also only usable by the Nav system. Everything else was displayed on a tiny 3-4 line display on top of the dash.

volvos seem to always get better than rated mileage.

i drove T6 S80's (the old TT model) to atlanta more than once. averaged about 30mpg at 80mph or so. the 5 cyls aren't really any better on the highway, but they are around town.

Volvos are simply some of the best looking vehicles on the road, inside and out. If only the R-types were a little tighter with a little more power...and offered with MTs!

Can you take a pic of the engine bay. I am always amazed they took a long I6 engine and somehow managed to mount it transversely.

Thumbs up for a nice car!

Isn't it the shortest I6 (plus transmission) in the world?
