Get some better wheels, those are terrible. I think the bolt pattern is the same on modern Nissans but I wonder if the offsets/widths are good for a Z32

Edit: Oh you got stock wheels. I was looking at the chrome ones on the Craigslist ad

one of my favorite cars from childhood... I'm jealous!

wow, that is one hot car!
lose the wing -unless it actually is stock.

Hated those rims too. Thankfully the po kept the stock 16s. Gonna look for the 370z touring rims 18s for cheap. Already got those pos chrome wheels which weighed a ton sold.

Will probably lose the wing but may keep it if the stock wing holes were modified at all. Gonna look for a used stock wing.

Trying to decide if I'm going to pull engine and replace all gaskets and all the injectors or keep it in and pull the plenum and just do the one faulty injector. A friend from the nico forums who has one of these may come by next week to help me get a parts list together.

Hope everyone had a good giving thanks day.

Trying to weigh the cost difference between buying a new bumper or redoing one of the two stock ones that are now boogered.

http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=1537

What do you guys think of this?

Its essentially stock since its from a 99 fairlady that never made it to the US. I kinda like its clean lines. Upon further inspection the lights the PO replaced the stock ones from are from a late model fairlady as well. May match nicely?

I cant decide.

That looks good but I prefer the original. If I didn't know that one was from the Japanese 1999 one, I would think it was a body kit

I like the JDM, but at $500 shipped and I think you need to use new lights; it will be a major percentage of what you paid for the car.

Depends on your goals.

That car is pretty clean. Wish I had a shop like that, need somewhere to put the '54 my dad drug home.

Plus now the starter in my mom's Eclipse is dead or dying, so with the '54 in the garage, there's nowhere to work on it.

Lots of guys use the Jspec hood. Its cleaner than most at least.

Im looking to pick it up used. Saw a couple of them for sale on various forums so should spend less than full price. both of he stock bumpers I have are pretty rough. I can spray them myself so paint shouldnt be aproblem. The red should be easier to match up. If I replace with a knock off stock bumper I will end up paying 300 or so so a bit more to get what I want isnt too bad lol.

It's a 54 Bel Air. It's also half a car at the moment, cause my dad pulled off the front end, fenders and hood.

Tested every injector and found 1 dead and two additional out of spec.

So pulled hoses and bolts for 3 hours to pull the plenum off and delete the IACV, EGR, and various vacuum hoses to clean up the engine bay.

Doing timing belts and whatever else I can find wrong this week.

Ordered 6 new style injectors with needed parts retrofit my old style rails to new style. I decided to stay stock flow rate so I can go completely stock and tune later. I want to catch on on the body and small necessary pieces before I decide to go faster. Body work is going to hurt a little. I am budgeting about 1k.

Once I hear it running and out of limp mode I will be very happy. Hopefully by friday!

I have more pictures of the tear down if you guys are interested.

Knuckles definitely took a beating on this one....

That's pretty awesome, I had one friend who had a na 300zx, he didn't have it too long before he went back to the 240sx scene. He said that it was a nightmare to work on, compared to the 240sx's.

The added stuff on the twin turbo makes it a nightmare. Now that about 8 hoses are removed for good from the car it will be a 20 minute job to pull the plenum now. Took way too long with all the little crap that I had to meticulously mark and label because there was so much of it.

Most guys on TT.net say that doing the deletes and upgrading the injectors really wakes up the early TTs.

Those and the 3000 GTs are some of the worst cars in the world to work on, or any late 80s early 90s Japanese turbo car. Definition of rats nest and spaghetti. Be lucky you only have bloody knuckles, and didn't get lost in the engine bay forever :awe:

lol. I remember a buddy of mine lost his wedding ring into bay and couldnt find it for days.

Once all the extra tubing is out the bay will look much cleaner. I got a new balance tube that I am painting once here.

Ripped out the viper security system that stopped working properly long before I ever got it. Scared the crap out of me pulling that mess out. Will upload the horror later.
