In general -- what sweetener do you use for coffee/tea/baking or whatever you use these things for.

<--- natural sugar, or brown sugar or honey

No artificial sweeteners, please. :)

My wife's diabetic so she takes Equal/Splenda/Sweet N' Low

I've gotten used to doing the same.

My grandparents are diabetic (genetic :() -- they take Equal, too. But once in a while, my grandmother (bless her soul) would sneak in a teaspoon or two of real sugar in her coffee ;)

Sugar, brown sugar, honey, or sorghum, in limited quantities, depending on what needs to be sweetened. Natural stuff is far better than any of the fake sweeteners, and it just makes you a bit fatter (which beats getting cancer any day IMHO). ;)

Is this like brown sugar?

Not really but it is darker in color. Tastes quite good.

What is Sugar In The Raw?
Sugar In The Raw is a natural, unrefined sugar made from sugar cane grown in Maui. Juice is extracted from the sugar cane, and then crystallized through evaporation. These crystals are rinsed with a very small amount of water to remove just enough stickiness to make the product free flowing. We pack this turbinado sugar and market it as Sugar In The Raw.

Brown sugar is the least processed, most natural and the one I use... ok, I bought a 10 lb bag of C&H Golden Brown from Costco, so I'm stuck w/ using it. I normally using C&H White Granulated. Here's some basic info on the types of everyday sugars people use.

Sugar in the raw is processed just as little, if not less than.
