There's a creature that's only a vague memory from when I was a kid, but I always liked it. I don't know if it was complete fiction, but I remember it as being a north east indian legend. It was so skinny, it disappeared when it turned sideways, and left a triangular bite mark on it's kills. The name started with a "W". Wamagansuat, or something like that. It's been decades, so could be wildly wrong.

Interdimensional bigfoot because it highlights the ridiculous lengths that people will go to keep their delusions alive rather than facing reality. There's a hilarious scene in the Hulu documentary Sasquatch where there's 2 bigfoot, uh...enthusiasts? One of them starts making fun of the other for believing in interdimensional bigfoot.

Wendigo? Although not sure it fits since I think only the w and Native American legend. I see the OP included it. The triangular bite sounds familiar but I feel like that's from a fish (likely covered, both the myth and reality, by Jeremy Wade on River Monsters).

La Llorona checks all the right boxes. You don't even have to create the pretense that your children were bad, she just takes them.

Selkies are pretty cool as well.
