Pick up CoD:WaW or no?

I've been seeing mixed reviews and opinions on the game. I have CoD4 for the PC and loved it. I'm in desperate need of a fps for 360. Was wondering if I should bite on WaW or pass and wait for something else?

If not World at War, could I get another reccomendation for an fps?

If you don't want to pick up CoD4 on the 360, then yes, WaW is the next best thing.

I thought it was pretty darn good, so I say go for it. You can find it for $40ish now, good price for the game. I enjoyed it

I'd get CoD4 for the 360 because I personally find it more fun on the 360 (especially since more people have microphones).

If you already played CoD4, you'll hate W@W because you'll compare the 2 and see how much W@W sucks compared to Cod4.
The next best thing to CoD4 on the 360 is probably Left 4 Dead or Halo3

Think of WaW as a new map/weapon pack for COD4. Its the same damn game with new maps and weapons.

More people are playing WaW than COD4 on the 360 now, if that's any motivation.

Outside of that, they're very similar. I found map design in COD4 to be better, though.

No, the game fucking sucks... get over it. It's not as good as CoD4 for a lot of people. He was telling the OP he shouldn't get W@W, so it sure as hell isn't trolling. Now picking out his posts and calling him out on stuff is plain rude, so you're more in the wrong here than him.

None of us fucking said it was better than CoD4 - but the OP has already PLAYED CoD4 ON ANOTHER SYSTEM. Why the FUCK would I continue to recommend it to him? WHY?! He wants a FPS for the 360 - granted, I could recommend Bioshock, but he specifically mentioned W@W. The game is NOT terrible, in fact, I think the singeplayer sucks ass. But the MP is fun and a bit "refreshing" in the sense of weapons and perks are a bit different than CoD4.

The game had a lot of potential, but the multiplayer map design is absolutely awful. You'll find that you are *always* flanked by an enemy no matter what strategies you employ.

On a minor note, the animations aren't as fluid as COD4, but I think the graphics are a tad nicer. The single player campaign is good.

I saw your thread and I saw someone mention BF: Bad Company. I picked it up for cheap and it is not a bad game at all. I wish there were more online games modes but other than that it is a decent game, excellent for the price.

Not only is it still prevalent, it's worse than it's ever been. It happens once in awhile in COD4, but it happens constantly in WaW. They were trying to set it up so you never had to walk/run to find the action; they wanted you to spawn in the middle of it. They certainly succeeded, but at the expense of tactics and strategy.

The single player is very fun on the moderate difficulty levels. On the harder levels it ceases to be fun as it just becomes a random grenade fest where its just one cheap kill after another.

The multiplayer is a mixed bag. Its fundamentally the same game as COD4 with different weapons, but the maps are of a significantly lower quality.

because in my experiences, it's better on the 360 than on the PC (more fair, better experience).

The purpose of the OP's post was whether or not to pick up W@W and if not, what fps to get instead. I said no it's not worth it - INSTEAD, he should pick up CoD4 for the 360 as well.

OP - you should also get Halo3 since it's a good party game since 4 players can play online on 1 xbox

If you were amazed by the single player story for CoD4, you will be BORED as hell on the single player story on W@W. It's like they tried to mimic the epicness of the CoD4 but ended up doing only a half assed job and it just feels like "i've seen all of this before, whoopdy doo"

As for MP, I've played more CoD4 than W@W, but so far my impressions are that MP on CoD4 beats W@W by a long shot.

I probably would have sold my copy of W@W by now if it weren't for my friends who still want to keep playing MP and Zombies.
