I own a Smith machine with lat pull down with bottom pully as well. No chance to add dip Station or pull up. Was planning on putting it outside so on the way to work I could jump on it for a quick set.

Well, it's your choice, but if all you have is a smith, then getting a free standing power rack with a pull up bar and dip attachment seems like it would be a lot more bang for your buck. Allows you to use it for a whole heck of a lot more if you ever felt the desire to get a standard barbell. Lots of those cheaper racks come with squat spotter bars too which would work as dip bars in a pinch (albeit a bit wide).

I personally like the Rogue Fitness racks, but they are in the 500-600 range. They have a huge range of accessories though that you may not find with most other brands.

Either way, if you're spending ~200-300 on a rack and putting it outside, I wouldn't expect it to last very long unless it's covered.

The smith machine can do everything leg press leg extensions squat press butterfly pull downs etc. I imagine a metal power tower to last till the end of time. Ok it gets rusty, i sand and paint it but it's not going to fall apart. A power rack is great but what would I use it for? I have Olympic barbells already and a freewright bench as well. Seriously only looking for a power tower.

OK well i changed to the power cage, sure it is 50$ more and will cost another 50 to get the dip attachment but i will be able to use it for squats and things if i decide to use something other then my smith machine.
was 260 shipped after coupon. Thanks for pushing me to get something better 200 did seem excessive for just a power tower. used to be able to find them for 75 on craigslist. now i wish i can find a decent playground set. the ones im looking at are 2000$ :)
