PICK-A-RAM

I beseech to those in the know (and to those who share the same specs) to shed some light on this baffled soul 😕.
I'm upgrading and currently this is where i stand:

Mobo: ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe / Wi-Fi
Processor: AMD X2 5000+ Black Edition
VG Card: ASUS EN8800GT 512MB DDR3
PSU: NOX Urano 500w
Case: NOX Coolbay 25

Now all i need is a couple of solid slabs of RAM and this is where any who might be willing to part some knowledge are most welcome. Assistance in this matter is hugely appreciated .

On a different note: i know this is not the place but ...what the heck (saves me some time).
I haven't made up my mind on any cooler in particular but i'm curious to what any of u have to say regarding two ASUS coolers, the Triton 77 and the Triton 79.

Problematic motherboard, they die very often, ask around lots of users had trouble with it.

PSU: NOX Urano 500w
YAY! for non-brand name PSU's, probably no better than raidmax garbage and will die oh around 200W load.

two ASUS coolers, the Triton 77 and the Triton 79
Asus does not make good cpu coolers, their are far better coolers on the market for any amount of money than some of their coolers.

Case: NOX Coolbay 25
I'm going to guess this is some sort of special 'bling bling' kind of case, probably plastic garbage with zero room or conveniences you can get with other cases. If you want that sort of 'bling bling' case, i'd have to look but i'm sure apevia and nzxt make better cases than no name brand crap.

Processor: AMD X2 5000+ Black Edition
depending on what your upgrading from and how much you want to spend, most of intels current products will be better overall than this.

VG Card: ASUS EN8800GT 512MB DDR3
eVga and XFX have better warranty's but at least you got the card right.

Overall what you have now isn't exactly the best choices you should be making for the money. We can help more if you provide a little information based on amount your willing to spend and the country your from.

Thx for the reply Quiksilver.
I can't really do much about the hardware i've already purchased but, they've all had good reviews and to be honest .....ur the first person that tells me the M2N32 SLI Deluxe is problematic. Regarding the other components, NOX is a new brand, granted, nevertheless it's been tried and also has excellent reviews (European ones that is), as is the case with the PSU and the ATX Case.
The AMD CPU, well, i couldnt be happier and to back me up i have a nice link u might wanna scope http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=247532 .
As far as the ASUS 8800GT goes, the store i purchased it from has a complementary warranty so all is as it should be.

To sum it up and to answer ur question about the amount of $ im willing to spend here's a summary of each components prices:

VG Card: ASUS EN8800GT 512MB DDR3 - 223$
Processor: AMD X2 5000+ Black Edition - 93$
Mobo: ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe / Wi-Fi - 145$
PSU: NOX Urano 500w - 37$
Case: NOX Coolbay 25 - 56$

So, taking this into consideration and knowing that i can acquire an Asus Triton 77 for 32$ and a ....let's say ...Zalman CNPS-9700 NT for 53$ u pretty much get an overall idea of what i can get and for how much, give or take the odd $. Naturally this also applies to RAM.

Note: This unfortunate soul resides in the sphincter of Europe, commonly referred to as .....:frown: Portugal.

This guy alone will tell you more about problems with his M2N32 Deluxe than anyone else I know

Also, I don't count suicide overclocks a good backing up your point its just not the overclock your going to be stable at because its just not a real world situation.

Considering how much you paid for that PSU, I don't expect it to last long at all... especially since it is a non brand psu but you already paid for it.

Now for the coolers, I was thinking more or less a Coolermaster Hyper 212 or Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro those should be within the price range.

Asus makes better motherboards then coolers... Go with what quiksilver said or try a zerotherm BTF90.

Oh, and just get some good cheap name-brand DDR2-800 RAM or something. Make sure it is JEDEC or EPP compatible.

JEDEC means it is nearly universally compatible as it will boot up at default voltage and 5-5-5-18 timings.

EPP (SLi Ready?) means your RAM will run at 4-4-4-12 at the recommended voltage.
