Hi all,

I am in need of your help, I m rebuilding my computer to go in this case Silverstone LC13 and I need a 400W PSU to power the following:

DFI 250GB Mobo with A64 3000
1 GB Memory
WD 76 GB SATA Raptor HD
SG 160 GB SATA HD
Liteon DVD
NEC 3500 DVD R/RW
Floppy / 7 in 1 card reader combo
Audigy 2 ZS
BFG 6800 nu

Could you give me some suggestions on a PSU that will fit this case and have all the necessary power connectors to run everything listed.

TIA. Scott.

A Silverstone LC13? OY, avoid 80mm-fan PSUs like that Antec.

A desktop-type HTPC case needs a PSU with a 120mm-fan to help with the ventilation. You want a Seasonic Super Tornado 400.

I have the Super Tornado in my Silverstone LC03 case. It helps keep my case cool at 31C (6C above room ambient temp).

And it's a lot more quieter than the Antec.

Another vote for the Seasonic Super Tornado 400. Also check out the new Seasonic S12 if you're able to get one.

Thanks so much...... The S12 seems a little juicy for my needs, albeit a nice PSU with plenty of room to grow.

Just to reconfirm that the Seasonic Super Tornado 400 will indeed fit this case and have all power leads that I will need. Sorry for the newbish question.

Thanks again.

Yep. The 400 should have the 24-pin motherboard power plug and the 6-pin PCIe plugs.

The Silverstone LC13 and the Seasonic Super Tornado are made for each other. As perfect a combo as I've ever come across.

Great..... Now I don't have a PCIe video card. I'm using an AGP 6800nu with the other listed components. So am I still good to go?

Absolutely. Do come back and let us know how it turns out with your LC13. I love building HTPCs with Silverstone cases.

If you're looking for room to grow, I'd get this PSU.

I will, thanks for all your help. I just saw the S12 - 430W I looked at the 500W before. In your opinion, what makes the S12 430W a better PSU than their Tornado. And does it still have all the connectors I need?

This is my last question I promise .

The S12 series are a bit more efficient (80%) than the Super Tornadoes (78%) ahd has the Easy-Swap connectors (the molex power plugs with the finger grips). Both are quiet, both hold voltages very steady. Either one is fine, really. I'd go with whichever one is available/cheaper.
