Pichosting question...

Anyone have advice for someone who would like to offer pichosting as well, but with user authentication (i.e. I have to authenticate the user before they can have their own account), and that is done in PHP (currently trying to avoid CGI on my system, for various reasons).

Edit: I should add that if I do offer this, it'll be hosted on an oc3, so it'll be faster than the others, and should hopefully take some of the burden that dwell, Paulson, etc., have right now in terms of traffic and DB usage.

well if you're so worried about data verification and such why don't you use one of mine or dwell's... it'd only be for verification, which wouldn't take much bandwidth at all..

I'm not really sure how your system(s) work. I'm looking into it right now, but I'm also looking into independent PHP gallery systems that have their own simple registration/authentication setup. There are only about a billion and a half PHP gallery systems out there.

I can set it up so that you could athenticate and such via my server... (hell it'd even email the stuff out to the person)

all you'd have to do is point the site to my server or dwells but you'd be hosting the pictures and such...

So you just want to approve accounts before they are activated? Should be simple enough... just take the source code for an app that you like and make a few minor changes... I'm sure there are lots of people on this forum who could help you with that

Well whatever you do I'd appreciate if you did start up a hosting site... people always complain mine is too slow and dwell probably is getting so much bandwidth usage it isn't even funny...

The Babe Forum has quite a few lurkers. Wouldn't be a big deal if more folks would post. I made a thread the other day and I hosted the pics (about 1MB in total). Between two sites I posted on there have been about 2000 views in 24 hours. Sure the ISP isn't happy about that Need to rip off someone elses
