When you chaneg a picture, does it over write the original or save the changes as a new copy?

It doesn't do either... it creates a config file that when you open picasa it looks at it and makes the necessary changes the pictures. The only way it'll give you the changes in a file format is if you export it.

Correct. The original file is never touched unless you tell Picasa to overwrite the file.

The best feature of Picasa is that it backs up large sets of photos across multiple dvds w/o imaging. Its also very fast. Great program.

They aren't used for the same thing.

exactly... i was about to say.. photoshop and gimp have nothing on the browsing abilities of picasa.

I'm currently using it to add iptc keywords to the metadata.. because flickr extracts that as tags nicely :) It'll also make for searching for pictures much easier. otherwise, I would rather use acdsee7 for browsing. yes, it's not as cool and is a bit sluggish... but if someone can suggest an alternative that lets me view pictures and exif data at the same time... and continue to scroll through pictures like that... suggest away.

If I batch "I'm Feeling Lucky" - does it change the pictures or just the thumbnails?
How do I "export" the batch fixed pictures?
