I did this as a senior in high school.. we had a brand new and very.. not smart physics teacher.. she replaced the best physics teacher ever! :( Anyway.. I used hard drive packaging.. we dropped it off the roof of the gym and 0% damage was taken.. then we played football with the hard drive box. Still good! :p

In college, the architectural students would do this, though out the 3rd floor windows. The only materials they got were toothpicks and white (elmer's) glue. Amazingly, many eggs survived to be dropped again!

styofoam(sp) plates... put the egg in the middle and make them look like this

face both inwards and place egg in the middle.... it worked from 3 stories, however it wont have time to do the parachute effect probably from only 5-8 feet


I used the inner part of a roll of paper towels... put several of them together, i think it took 4, and cover from every angle. rubber band together and you have yourself a droppable egg
