Physical Size of GTX260 vs. 9800GX2?

I know that the GTX260 and 9800GX2 are the same length, but what about their thickness?

I have the vanilla EVGA 9800GX2 ( http://www.evga.com/products/m....asp?pn=896-P3-1265-AR ) and am stepping up to the vanilla EVGA GTX260/216 ( http://www.evga.com/products/m....asp?pn=896-P3-1265-AR ).

From the pics. I could find of the GTX260/216, it looks like it tapers near the end where the fan is. Is the GTX260/216 actually "thinner" than the 9800GX2 at the end (the half of the card where their power connectors are)?
 
The GX2 and the 260 have very similar external heat enclosures. The taper was introduced to allow air flow if butted up against another card in SLI. "Depends on mobo". But the two should be similar in length, width.
