I was doing the normal stuff with Win2k when all of a sudden I got a blue screen and a message saying "Beginning physical memory dump"

What the heck is that?

it is the NT-kernel style BSOD. it is generally a severe crash. If it doesn't happen again, it was a fluke. if it becomes constant, you should look into reformatting/checking that your hardware is OK. did you change anything recently? drivers?

Well it didn't look like a BSOD from Win98 or ME

not real sure what an NT one looks like

<<not real sure what an NT one looks like>>

An NT BSOD looks just like a 2K BSOD. Win 2K is, in reality, NT 5.0. If you want to get really technical, XP (Home or Pro) is nothing more than NT 5.1. I've gotten a BSOD in 2K a couple of times, and I've always been able to trace it back to having run a program designed for Win 9x. Of course, your mileage may vary.

Oh, sorry. FWIW, "blue screen and a message saying 'Beginning physical memory dump'" = NT BSOD.

So basically its your usual BSOD

I won't put to much worry into it

Odd how it's never showed up before and I just formatted this computer under 3 days ago

I so want XP

Even though there is pretty much no difference in performance between it and 2k

Now to find someone with a Corporate edition

;)
