I've re-discovered this album lately and am now convinced it's Zep's best, your opinion???

If Stairway wasn't played out, 4 would be up there I just didn't like ITTOD and Coda so much but every other album has more than a few kick ass songs.

My favorite song to get baked too in high school, Kashmir:

I saw them in 1977 in the Oakland Collesuim. "Nobody's Fault But Mine" was AWESOME there. It was reverberating off the stands (we were on the grass) and sending a chill down my LSD laced spine.

It is their best album, but keep in mind that 1/2 of it was made during the II and III era, so it got a lot of their unreleased material from their peak.

I and II are still my favorites. As a big fan at the time I was actually a bit disappointed when PG came out. It's grown on me since then, though I'd rank Presence in front of it.

I hate Led Zeppelin :^D

Edit:
spelling

:hmm: I never thought I'd find my nemesis. But you sir, you are now my mortal enemy. I shall know you immediately upon first - and ultimately only - meeting, shall fate ever say it be true. Lest you agree that the devil be accountable for your fateful words, and not thine tongue of heathen.

I'm surprised it took this long to get a comment. I've never liked them much, but there's a couplel of songs that aren't too bad I guess. I don't like Page's guitar playing, and I fuckin' hate hate hate Plant's voice. He also gets bonus shit points for jump starting the "balls in a vice" vocal style that was popular with all the hair bands of the 80s :^/

Did they play In The Light and In My Time Of Dying (my favourites)? I can picture some mighty good chest-crushing drumming going on...

Yeah, I have to be in a certain mood for some of their music. They have so many varied sounds.

But certain songs, any mood is suitable for enjoyment.

Oh and, for IV... Battle of Evermore is so awesome.

Also partial to In the Light and Kashmir, of course. And House of the Holy is a great album.

Well... CD.
Led Zeppelin, as an old band, is one of the reasons I want to get a quality record player and 2ch amp. Money though, makes that not a good idea at the time. Need to figure out a way to get it on my Receiver as well.
Modern bands begging me to give their LPs a listen would be Coheed and Cambria and The Mars Volta. I imagine their sound would be epic based on a recording I heard from a Co&Ca LP.

They were scheduled to play in FL in '77 but a huge FL rainstorm came up and started dumping tons or rain on the set, the band of course retreated but refused to come back out, (I don't blame them, it was lightning like crazy) and a riot soon ensued. The tour was stopped soon after that. Kashmir is the only song I skip over on the 2 disk set, great song but "classic" rock stations around here have beat it to death, shame too with all the kick ass songs on PG to choose from..

How is it possible to not like Page's guitar playing, it's like saying breathing sucks..
